HP Envy w102nx Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP Envy notebook with pre installed Windows 10. 2 Days back after usual windows update my wifi stopped working. On restart wifi available networks disappeared and upon checking device manager i realized that the driver for Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn is not working. Therefore it is not recognizing the adapter. I checked my windows update history and there was an upgrade history present related to Realtek Semiconductor Corp. driver update for Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter.

Kindly help my out to resolve this issue. As i am unable to use my laptop with wifi.

Thank you.

Hey @Farhan_Akhlaq,

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand you are facing an issue with the wireless card on the computer. Happy to help.

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Have you tried to reinstall the wireless adapter or rollback the driver?

Please check if the wireless adapter is enabled in device manager (check if there are any errors)

Open network and sharing center by doing right-click on the network icon the taskbar.

On the network and sharing center screen, select the option on the left - change adapter settings.

This would display the network adapters on the computer.

Right-click on the wireless adapter and check if it is enabled and try to connect to your network.

Please uninstall the wireless adapter listed in device manager, delete the driver when prompted. Restart the computer and install the driver from this link.

For other troubleshooting steps, refer to this HP Article

Run HP Support Assistant to check if all the other drivers are updated on the computer.

Let me know how it goes.

when you say you did it a number if times do you mean unistalled and reinstalled a number times and it finally worked? and when you say it worked, did you have to do anything to get the wireless working again? ie set up a new network or did the comp just automatically pick up the wireless signal?

I have had the same problems with my wireless driver disabling itself. I followed the steps and uninstalled my driver. Once that was done I tried to install the driver from the link above and was having no success. When I gave up and went to reinstall the previous driver I get an error message saying one of the installers for this device cannot perform the installation at this time. I have been having issues with the wireless driver for months and now that I have uninstalled it I can't seem to get any driver to install, What do I do?
