Tried from app, tried to reset printer system. Computer cannot connect to either printer. When I try to connect using bonjour, computer finds printers, and seems to have drivers, but is unable to connect to printers. Contacted Apple. they tried other things.

Hi @Hxxx,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's unfortunate that you're facing issues with your HP Envy printers on macOS 12. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
Update Printer Drivers: Visit the HP website to make sure you have the latest printer drivers compatible with macOS 12 (Monterey). Sometimes, older drivers may not work correctly with newer macOS versions.
Restart Everything: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Try restarting your Mac, printer, and Wi-Fi router.
Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If they are not on the same network, they won't be able to communicate with each other.
Reset Network Settings on Printer: You can try resetting the network settings on your HP Envy printers. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
Firewall and Security Software: Ensure that your Mac's firewall or any security software isn't blocking the connection to your printers. Check the settings to see if you can add exceptions for the printers.
Reinstall Printers: Remove the printers from your Mac and add them again:
a. Open "System Preferences" on your Mac.
b. Select "Printers & Scanners."
c. Highlight the printer in question on the left sidebar.
d. Click the "-" (minus) button to remove the printer.
e. Then, click the "+" (plus) button to add the printer again. Make sure it's detected in the list of available printers.
Check Bonjour Settings: Since your Mac can see the printers via Bonjour but can't connect, it might be a Bonjour issue. Ensure Bonjour is enabled on your Mac and the printers. You may need to check the printer's settings through its control panel.
Firmware Update: Check if there are firmware updates available for your HP Envy printers. Sometimes, firmware updates can improve compatibility.
USB Connection: If possible, try connecting the printer to your Mac using a USB cable. This can help determine if the issue is related to Wi-Fi or a more fundamental printer-driver problem.
Remember to back up any important documents before making major changes to your printer or computer settings, and ensure you have the latest macOS and printer software updates installed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,
I had already gone though most of what you suggested - reset the print system, downloaded and installed latest drivers, without apparent success. I really felt I was a t a dead end, to the point that I intended to undo my upgrade to OS 12. The drivers simply would not install. I was even able to print using the hp utility. I found a "Find and fix problem in th ehp utility and ran that. Nothing changed. Then, the next day, as a final try, I contacted Apple again and tried again with a senior tech. I showed him the response I was getting when I tried to install the printers into the operating system, and *surprise* ... it worked. I did not do anything different this time, but somehow, somewhere along the way, some background function must have fixed it. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and select you are having solved it. Thanks for your input! I'll save that for ... perhaps another similar situation??!!
