I've had my HP Laptop 17 about 13 months now and the Wireless card has suddenly gone bad. My opetions were to have the Geek Squad send it to their repair facility so they could replace the card, and this would cost over $100 to do, or purchase an externam Wifi USB adapter for $49.99. Being in need of the internet I purchased the external Wifi adapter. This along with a broken hinge, my laptop is literally falling apart.

Hi

Could you perhaps give the type of WiFi card you have?  Then specifics about the failure please.

If you use the WinKey and R you get a small box to type into,,, type msinfo32   then using the drop down menu's you may be able to find Components: Network: Adapter:

Product Type    Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter

and maybe from there we can offer a solution.
