Hi,

Can you please suggest me a compatible dual band wi-fi adaptor replacement for my laptop (HP ENVY 15 Series).

Need a replacement as the current adaptor is only single band and is very slow and the signal drop off intermittently.

Thank you.

Hi:

Unfortunately, your notebook probably has one wifi antenna cable attached to the Broadcom single band wifi card in there now.

I can give you a recommendation for a dual band AC wifi card, but you will not have Bluetooth because the card requires two antenna cables for the Bluetooth to work.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You can find the card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number.

Attach the single antenna wire to the wifi card's Main antenna terminal.  Aux is for the Bluetooth.

If you must have Bluetooth, then you will have to live with the internal Broadcom card you have now, or purchase an external USB Bluetooth adapter, and use that with the Intel card.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure...

If by chance your notebook has two antenna cables connected to the Broadcom card, then you are in luck, but don't get your hopes up.

Hi:

In order to see if you can upgrade the wifi card in your notebook, I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number...

You're very welcome.

That is great news.

I am very surprised that your notebook has two antenna cables connected to the Broadcom wifi card.
