I've had this issue before but not for several years and I cannot recall how I fixed this issue.  touchpad works fine but my mouse has stopped functioning.  batteries are new.  I don't know if this is connected but my internal battery has expired and is being replaced.

I see from your post that you're having issues with the HP mouse not working. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

 

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

 

Have you tried to use an alternate mouse and check if that works.

Is it a Wireless mouse or Wired mouse. If it's a wireless mouse, have you tried to replace the batteries and have you tried synchronize  the mouse.

 

Could you please elaborate more on the issue as this will help me in further assisting you.

 I have resolved this problem by setting a restore point on my PC which corrected the issue.  thank you for your assistance.
