Having issue with hp notebook wifi card 5ghz capability. When i type netsh wlan show drivers in cmd then the radio type supported shows the following,  802.11n 802.11g 802.11b 802.11ac 802.11n 802.11a

But in device manager under network settings, in the advanced setting of my WiFi adapter namely RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe adapter, there is no option for 5ghz except the one in preferred band.Screenshot (187).pngScreenshot (188).pngScreenshot (189).png

Hi:

The 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band is denoted by the 'a,' 'ac,' and 'n.'

The 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band is denoted by the 'b', 'g' and 'n'

I have the same card and it connects to my router's 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band just fine.

There should be no reason to change any of the settings from their defaults unless you want to select the 5.0 GHz band as the preferred band, and there is really no reason why you would want to do that.

You also have an old driver installed.

This is the latest Wi-Fi driver for the RTL8821CE:

2024.10.228.1   01/31/2023

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp144501-145000/sp144871.exe

Restart the PC after installing the driver.
