Once i reinstalled the hp software (system event utility and others) and i cant remember why... But ever since ,the omen gaming hub button wasnt workinh and i looked for help, evnetually i found system event utility on the ms store, but whenever i pressed the fn and f11 keys (to disable the trackpad) i got TWO  POPUPS instead of 1, i still get those to this day. The omen button stooped working just out of random after i restarted my laptop/pc. THe calculator button still works...

Hi @Orestis_M,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your HP Omen button and function keys. It can be frustrating when reinstalling software leads to unexpected problems, especially with a feature like the Omen Gaming Hub that you rely on. Let’s work through this together to find a solution.

  • Did you reinstall any other software alongside the HP System Event Utility, such as the Omen Gaming Hub or keyboard drivers?
  • Have you noticed any other keys or hardware features behaving abnormally since reinstalling the software?
  • Are the dual pop-ups identical, or do they provide different messages or functionality?

Let's try these steps.

Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub and Related Software

  • Go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall the Omen Gaming Hub.
  • Ensure that HP System Event Utility is also installed and up-to-date.
  • Restart your laptop and test the Omen button.

Reset Omen Gaming Hub Settings

  • Open the Omen Gaming Hub software.
  • Navigate to Settings (typically a gear icon).
  • Look for an option to reset the settings to defaults. This can often resolve configuration issues that prevent the Omen button from working.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > **Device Manager`).
  • Expand Keyboards, right-click your keyboard driver, and select Update Driver.
  • If updating doesn’t work, right-click and choose Uninstall Device, then restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Check for Windows and HP Software Updates

  • Open Settings (Win + I) > Windows Update and ensure your system is fully updated.
  • Launch HP Support Assistant and check for any available updates specific to your device, particularly for BIOS, drivers, or utility software.

Disable Duplicate System Event Utility Pop-ups

  • Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  • Go to the Startup tab (or open Task Manager > Startup Apps in Windows 11).
  • Look for multiple instances of HP System Event Utility or similar processes and disable any duplicates.
  • Restart your laptop and test the function keys and Omen button again.

If the problem persists after these steps, it might indicate a deeper conflict between system utilities or a corrupted software installation. In that case, a complete uninstallation and reinstallation of the Omen Gaming Hub, System Event Utility, and possibly a system reset may be needed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
