My HP Ominibook x flip 14 inch 2025 crashes with WPA3 Transition on Xfinity WiFi modem. I got Comcast Xfinity internet yesterday and my laptop keep getting blue screen and reboots frequently when connected to the wifi with default security mechanism configured (WPA3 Transition). If anyone faced similar issues, and how to resolve it. Do we expect an driver update from HP to fix the issue?

Hi @GauravS80,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reporting this issue. It appears that you're HP OmniBook X Flip 14-fm0000 (AK4Z2AV) has also experienced blue screen crashes and reboots when connecting to Xfinity WiFi using WPA3 Transition mode.
This issue is likely related to driver incompatibility with the Realtek 8852BE-V Choya WiFi adapter when operating in WPA3 Transition mode, which is a hybrid mode supporting both WPA2 and WPA3 clients.
Recommended Workaround:
Until new releases of a new driver update, here’s what you can do:
Option 1: Change WiFi Security Mode on Xfinity Router
- Log in to your Xfinity Gateway via http://10.0.0.1 or the Xfinity app.
- Go to Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi > Edit.
- Change Security Mode from WPA3 Transition to WPA2-PSK (AES).
- Save and reboot the router.
This will avoid triggering the WPA3-related crash on your laptop.
Option 2: Update WiFi Driver (if available)
Check for the latest Realtek WiFi driver from HP:
Look for updates under Driver-Network or Realtek Wireless LAN Driver.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @GauravS80,
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear the issue hasn’t reappeared after changing the Xfinity Gateway security mode to WPA2 and reinstalling the WLAN driver.
Just to clarify few models have gone with Intel, and yours is one of them. My apologies, I mentioned Relatek instead of Intel accidentally. This laptop model uses an Intel Wi-Fi driver, not Realtek. The currently installed version is the Intel WLAN driver for Microsoft Windows – Version 23.110.0.5, distributed under SoftPaq number: sp157033. This is the appropriate driver for the Intel wireless chipset used in your laptop.
If you need any help in the future, please do keep us posted.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
