From reading various posts on this support forum, I have seen solutions to upgrade/replace the factory installed NIC with a new version that can see and access a 5G network. I have the same issue where my laptop cannot see the 5G side of my network and need to access that. I know you can purchase a USB Wireless NIC that can accomplish this but also know that there must exist a replacement NIC that can be installed inside my laptop.
The current NIC installed on my laptop is a Realtec PCIe FE Family Controller.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Dale

Please edit your post and remove the s/n. For security reason, please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n) on Internet.
Your machine actually is an HP Pavilion 17-g121wm, its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04773111
It ONLY has 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN wifi adapter part # 792609-005 which does NOT 5GHz network. You can upgrade to 802.11 ac adapter on the following list
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter part # 784644-005
- Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter part # 792609-005
- Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 Combo Adapter part # 792608-005
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter part # 806723-005
Regards.

Thank you Banhien,
How can I remove my serial number from my post.....can I edit my original post?
Anyway, I do really appreciate your help with this. Which one of the cards listed is going to give me the best performance for the best price? Also, is it difficult to crack this laptop open to switch out the nic card....I do have tech skills (ex-IT Manager) from a few years ago but I know things change so fast that I want to be certain of what I'm getting into before I attempt this swap.
Cheers and Thanks again for your help....I truly appreciate it.

Only 2 on the list. They are very close specs. Normally the one higher code (newer) is better the one with lower code
