Pavilion 15-eg0855nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear all,

Since a month I use this Pavilion 15-eg0855nd, updated to Windows Pro. At work I want to use the LAN/ethernet, because the huge files I work with take longer over wifi… So I bought a USB-C > RJ45 connector. But…. I can’t get it working!

In basic network settings I only see the Bluetooth and WiFi (Realtek) options.  If I go to Device Manager, under Network Adapters I don’t see any LAN options. Even not when I tick ‘view hidden devices’. There are plenty of WAN options though, but as I understand correctly these are ‘virtual’ and have nothing to do with LAN/ethernet.

Any suggestions how to get this working? Or does this (beautiful and fast) Pavilion just doesn’t have the ethernet option?

Many thanks for all help and sorry if I missed it in the search section.

My suggestion: please use USB-A port (not USB-C port). I'm using the following adapter

           https://www.amazon.com.au/Anker-Aluminum-Portable-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00PC07T02

And I've got 2 more USB 3.0 ports

I also tested the following adapter (which came in the box with my HP machine), it worked. I do not know why yours did not work.

          HP USB-C NIC adapter

Regards.
