I have read several other posts regarding the limited wifi that comes with this laptop. I also have the RTL8188EE card on my machine with a single antenna lead. I've read most of the comments that suggest getting an external wifi card but I'm not sure why I haven't seen anyone suggest simply adding a second antenna and replacing the wifi card with one that supports 5g wifi.

I am currently attempting this solution. I ordered a wifi card that supports both 2.4 and 5g. I also ordered a set of dual antennas and replaced them only to find that the connectors have a different size end. After further research, it appears the original equipment is size IPEX(MHF1) and the replacements were MHF4. Can anyone confirm correct size and any insight as to whether this would work or not?

Your PC's Wi-Fi card uses U. FL Mini PCI antenna wires which have larger connecting couplers than those that are used for the M.2 form factor Wi-Fi cards.
