Shortly after being forced to upgrade to Windows 10, my HP Pavilion has been stuck in airplane mode and thus does not recognize any wireless networks. The wireless toggle switch just snaps back to the on position. I've tried deleting and re-installing network drivers. It did not work. I've tried many things at this point and nothing has worked. Is there anything else I should try? Will re-installing Windows solve the problem?

Thank you for showing your interest in the HP Forums,
I’d like to help,
As I understand Airplane Mode Stuck on,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
Have you updated the wireless drivers from the HP website using the Ethernet/wired internet?
(Click here to find and install, if you have done that yet)
Meanwhile here are a few other things that should help:
Method 1:
- Press Windows key on the keyboard
- Click on Settings window
- Go to Network icon
- Choose Network & Internet category.
- The second setting on the left column is Airplane mode.
- Turn it Off
Method 2: Update the drivers.
Step 1: Check for the latest driver update through Windows Updates.
- At the Start screen, type Windows Update.
- Click or tap Settings on the right side of the screen, and then select Install optional updates from the left results.
- When the Windows Update control panel opens, click on “Check for Updates” on the top left corner to receive a fresh list of updates.
Step 2: Follow the steps below to update the printer drivers.
- Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
- Go to device manager.
- Right-click your Wireless/Wi-Fi devices.
- Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
Restart the computer and check.
Method 3: Check in compatibility mode.
Download the Wireless/Wi-Fi drivers from your computer manufacture website for Windows 10, if not available.
Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Looking at recent posts to this forum, I have detected a surge in users of older HP laptops losing their wireless connectivity but Ethernet still working.
That happened on my laptop and I was able to fix it by disabling the power savings for LAN in the BIOS. Others say they cannot find this setting... And it is because they have the UEFI bios
You can read thru one of the long threads in the forum where I have been trying to resolve this issue for somebody else

I continue to look thru the posts on this forum to see if anybody is making progress on the recent wireless connectivity issue and I just saw this:
the only way to fix it on the as of now new a6 7310 notebook is as follows- TYPE "device manager" into windows (10) search bar- SCROLL to "network adapters"-SELECT "realtek rtl8723be''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' wifi adapter" (which is the route cause of the problem)-RIGHT CLICK and "update drivers" use the internet to find and auto install option and thats it.
You are welcome to try that and see what improvement you see and post back on the forum.
Don't worry about the model and adapter types, just follow the steps.
