I need help retrieving the network drivers for my hp pavillion g6, and the support site doesnt list them, and I discovered you guys had an archived forum post about my same issue with links, but those links no longer work. Could anyone give me new links to the drivers to download for my laptop to regain wifi and ethernet? this was the original post : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktops-Archive-Read-Only/problems-installing-network-drivers-hp-pavi... Please and thank you!

Hi:
Ya done good.
You need this driver for the Ralink wifi adapter your notebook has...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71421.exe
That model wifi adapter is not a combination wifi/bluetooth adapter.
So, unfortunately either the specs are wrong, or HP put the wrong model wifi adapter in your notebook.

Hi:
Below are the links to the wifi, ethernet and bluetooth drivers you need...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53663.exe
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55040.exe

Thanks for the help but the ethernet driver you listed was the only one that worked. the other two dont install properly. bluetooth wont work (if this laptop actually has it) and wifi still wont accept the driver. i currently do not have access to an ethernet cord or connection to use the net. is there anything else you need to help me find a solution to no wifi and no bluetooth? i mean i litterally have no info on the actual devices on it, just the exclamation points on a network controller and a pci device.

You're very welcome.
The parts list for your notebook indicated that it came with a Broadcom wifi/bluetooth adapter.
So, HP must have substituted that card for another model.
Please post the hardware ID for the Network Controller, so I can figure out what model wifi card your PC actually has, and then I will post the correct link to the driver it needs.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
For the PCI device, you need this driver...

oh thats awesome thanks for the guide. the pci driver worked! now all we need is the last network driver. i looked up the ids and it has 4 different ids but very similar. they are as follows:
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_1636103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_1636103C
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&CC_0280
i really hope you can find the right driver with these.

*cracks up* i wouldnt put it past HP to sell a nonstandard laptop despite its specs. its not the first time ive noticed they had. (Has dealt with many old HP towers back in the day with such issues) In fact when i saw the driver for ethernet was realtek, i laughed so hard because i have ALWAYS, ALWAYS had driver issues with them for ethernet and when they did sound on some old motherboards. anyway you are awesome! everything now works! youve brought new life to an unused laptop XD. im gonna upgrade the ram on it now and use it as a work device! thank you so much for all the help! it was a little annoying that its a non standard sold hp but yeah finding the right drivers definately make the difference! again thanks for all the help!

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Since you are going to upgrade the notebook, you may as well buy the right wifi card for it.
You want the Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 combination adapter--HP Part # 657325-001.
You must get that specific wifi card with that specific part number.
You can find them in used but tested and working condition on eBay.
Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
I would get a card that actually shows the part number on the 'Replace with HP Spare' label, such as the one I posted below.
