hello! my mom recently bought me a new laptop for christmas off of ebay and it just came in yesterday or the day before yesterday

she decided to give it to me early and we're having trouble getting it to connect to the home router/wifi.

it keeps saying Unidentified Connection or something like that while limited and my Playstation 4 connects fine and so does my phone

my other laptop (the one im on now) limits my connection every few hours to never at all

i tried diagnosing the problem and it keeps saying "the local area connection adapter is not working properly" and i dont know how to fix that? i tried solutions from the web and none work (or im just not completely tech smart to understand lol)

i appreciate any help and im sorry if this is in the wrong area!

Hi:

 

What model wifi adapter does the notebook come with?

 

If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.
