Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)

Hi all,

I purchased HP Victus FA-0555TX (WIndows 11 22H2 ) laptop about 2 months back. Since then, my wifi connectivity is randomly affected. The Wifi adapter (mediatek mt7921 wi-fi 6 802.11ax pcie ) is not listed by the device manager. I installed all the Windows updates including the optional ones, but nothing solved the problem. The wifi icon randomly shows up  on one day and disappears from system tray on another day. 

 

I googled up and see many are facing similar issues , but none of the recommendations worked for me. All the component troubleshooting came out OK , so the hardware is working.

 

Any solutions/suggestions is most welcome

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand you are facing a network issue with your HP Victus FA-0555TX. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

Please try the following Troubleshoots steps. 

 

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

 

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

 

Step3

 

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit 

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

 

Uninstall drivers on Device Manager

 

Open device manage to Uninstall network drivers on Device Manager

 

1. Open Start.

2. Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the app.

3. Expand the category with the device driver to remove.

4. Right-click the network and (one by one )device and select the Uninstall device option.

5. Click the Uninstall button. Once you complete the steps, the driver will be entirely removed from the computer.

Restart the unit

 

Please check and update Windows and HP support assistances drivers 

 

And update Bios and other drivers please click on the  Software and drivers for

Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000

 

Run network commands

 

Try running these network commands to manually reset the TCP/IP stack, release and renew the IP address, and flush and reset the DNS client resolver cache:

Select Search on the taskbar, and type command prompt. The Command Prompt button will appear. To the right of it, select Run as administrator > Yes.

 

At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order, and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:

 

Type netsh winsock reset and select Enter.

Type netsh int ip reset and select Enter.

Type ipconfig /release and select Enter.

Type ipconfig /renew and select Enter.

Type ipconfig /flushdns and select Enter.

 

How to Troubleshoot Wireless Network Connection Problems in Windows 11 | HP Support

 

You may try following these steps.

 

1. Press the "Windows key" type in "Device Manager" and press the enter key.

2. Network adapter > Wireless adapter, right-click and click "Properties".

3. In Properties, click the "Power Management" tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and hit "OK"

4. Restart PC.
