Im having very annoying problem that has been bugging me for about a week.

I started my laptop, and it did some system updates. After that, my wireless Logitech mouse just stopped working. I tried booting my computer, disconnecting the mouse and all that stuff.

When i went to check my device manager, i noticed under the HID-devices that the "HP Wireless Button Driver" had a yellow triangle with ! in it, and also my logitech USB input device and two other USB-input devides were also yellow with the "!" in the middle, but i think its the Button Driver that causes the problem.

With further investigation i noticed from the devices properties that there is an error message (in finnish, but i try to translate) something like " This device's driver file couldnt load. Driver file may be damaged (Code 39)"

I tried everything, troubleshooting, redownloading drivers, and even system recovery, which for some reason didnt work. Tried that many times and always failed. Not really sure what to try next. Anyone?

@Zontis

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

This is a great place to get support, find answers to your technical queries.

I understand that you are facing issue with the drivers, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you tried to uninstall the drivers from the device manager?

Have you tried updating BIOS, Chipset?

However, remove the USB dongle

uninstall the drivers from device manager and restart the computer.

If the issue persists, use this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers and update the BIOS and Chipset

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, this problem still occurs. I did try uninstalling and booting my computer earlier.

I checked from the HP website for possible BIOS updates but there was not BIOS update available for my computer.

@Zontis

Thanks for the reply.

I suggest you remove the USB dongle from the computer

uninstall the Bluetooth drivers from device manager.

Install the Wireless Button Driver from the recovery manager.

On HP notebook computers manufactured with Windows 8, drivers and applications are restored from the same screen in Recovery Manager.

  1. From the Start screen, type recovery to open the Search charm, and then select Recovery Manager from the search results.

    If prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. If prompted by User Account Control to allow the program to make changes to the computer, click Yes.

  2. Under I need help immediately, click Drivers and Applications Reinstall and wait for Recovery Manager to generate a list.

    A combined list of applications and drivers to reinstall appears, with the drivers listed at the top.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the drivers you want to reinstall, and then scroll down to the list of applications.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the applications you want to reinstall, and then click the Install button.

       NOTE:

    Some PCs might not have software applications to install and an applications section might not be available. This is normal and software should be installed from HP's web site or the web site of the software developer.

  5. When the Installation is completed message appears, click the OK button.

  6. Close all open applications, and then restart the computer.

Then, run the HPSA and check for the update using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905

Restart the computer.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Have a great day!

Cheers:)
