HP Wireless assistant for Windows 10

I can not enable the wifi adapter on my laptop ( this model does not have any way of enabling the adapter from the keyboard) because the last time I checked the wireless assistant had not been upgraded for Windows 10.   Has that been corrected and if so where can I get the download file for it?

Hi, Frank:

The HP Wireless Assistant and HP Connection Manager software only are supported up to and including Windows 7.

Neither application was ever supported, nor will they ever be supported for W8 - W10.

If the wifi adapter is showing up under the Network Adapters device manager category and it reports working properly, then the wifi adapter probably has a driver or setting issue.

There are some wifi adapters that are known to have issues with W10, such as the Intel 5100.

I read some of the posts concerning the H Wireless Assistant before I postred this question and since then as per the suggestion I unistalled as it will never work on Win 10.  

However, I still can not get the wireless adapter to enable which I previously (on Win 7) used the wireless aAssistant to do.  Given that there is no external control to turn the adapter on/off how do I do that?  I've tried all of the obvious Window controls and settings  and some even report it is enabled but for some reasaon does not detect Wireless networks even though there are several present, including the one I want to connect to.

Unless something in the hardware broke at the same time it was fine until Win 10 was installed.

Suggestions anyone.

What model wifi adapter is listed under the Network Adapters device manager category?

As I replied earlier, some model wifi adapters will not work on W10.

Hi 

I cannot connect with Wifi with Probook 6475b. Wifi Broadcom is installed but Windows don´t show Wireless Networks Available. I pressed Wireless Button, airplane mode is applied.

Windows 10 Release 1903 is installed.

I know that HP Connection Manager and HP Wireless Assistant, on Windows 7, it can power on for WiFI.

Please, need your help.
