Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I have a HP Zbook 15G2 which I bought second hand.

It had Windows 10 already installed when I bought it.

The Wireless card is an Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 which is not supported by Windows 10 from what I understood so far.

The issue I'm facing is that it tries to connect by default to all wireless connections available in the area and as a result the wi-fi shuts off.

I've tried multiple fixes, found the most up-to-date driver for this card, as it's discontinued, installed it but still the same problem.

I think the only solution now is to install a new Wireless Card.

Could anybody help me to understand what I need to look for when I buy a new card so that it's compatible with this laptop?hp laptop.jpg

Hi:

Chapter 3 of the service manual indicates that your PC has the best model wifi adapter HP offered in the model series.

c04493862.pdf (hp.com)

The part number and description of the card is:

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 AC 2x2 Wi-Fi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter   HP part # 710663-001

That appears to be a M.2 form factor Wi-Fi card according to this eBay listing:

New HP 710663-001 Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 7260NGW Bluetooth PCIe NGFF | eBay

If you can confirm that is the form factor of the card by opening up the PC and checking the wireless compartment, the only suggestion I can offer, since no other model Wi-Fi cards were offered, would be to see if this model card works, if your notebook has a M.2 form factor Wi-Fi card:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS #L35282-005

You should be able to find the above model card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number/SPS number, not the model of the Wi-Fi card.
