Hello,
Just purchased a Pavilion laptop cc561st and thinking about purchasing a wireless mouse.k Been doing some research but not clear on which is "safest" or compatible with my laptop. Don't want to risk outdated software or driver issues, so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Most Microsoft mice will work, including the Arc Mouse (bluetooth). Arc Mouse is a bit of a "weird" little mouse that lies flat when switched off and snaps into an "arc" to switch on and use. Very portable. The center wheel is not a wheel at all -- there is a flat "plate" that acts a bit like a wheel to scroll quickly up/down. No tilt (for back and forth). Cute little device though it might take a little while to get used to it.
My personal favorite...
Logitech is finally "on board" with Windows 10 -- the company makes nice products that are smart and reliable. I have a bunch of these of different types, colors, and vintages -- pretty much they all work with W10. Look for one of the "long battery life" models.
HP mice are fine, too, as long as the product is marked for Windows 10. Some of the older HP mice seem to have issues with the newer OS.
In other words, it is a mouse. Most work like expected.
You will pay for quality, features, ergonomics (feel and comfort), battery life.
Remember:
A mouse is not a life-long commitment. If you get a mouse and you don't like it, replace it with one that you might like better.

You are welcome.
I just looked around -- in the immediate area I found two m705s, several m505s, an old m325, m525....
no trackball mice. Smiling.
The Specs say the M570 is not rated for Windows 10 -- that might mean that some of the features and / or software won't work as expected.
The Mouse Software apparently helps (rated for Windows 10). The software is three years old -- this might mean that the mouse won't entirely get along with the latest Windows 10 versions. ??
The Software Downloads page provides various products, including the Logitech Connection Utility and the Unifying software (works with the tiny Logitech Unifying Receiver to manage your connected devices).
Is any of this helpful in your situation? I don't know -- it gives you a couple of places to look for ideas and help.
Good Luck - I hope your mouse serves the purpose.
