Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with either of those issues.

I know that on my HP 350 G1 notebook, I had to change the control panel view to Large Icons, and then there was a Synaptics Luxpad control panel setting where I could enable the various scrolling options.

As for the 64-bit version of DPinst.exe, I have no idea what that is all about.

Hi Paul,

I've recently decided to update back to Windows 8.1 on this same laptop we talked about a few weeks ago.  Would you be able to give me the correct network drivers (for wireless and ethernet cable connections) for Win8.1 64-bit?

To clarify, here are my hardware IDs again:

Wireless:
