No amount of restarting fixes this. I've tried uninstalling and disabling and re enabling them in device manager, where they show up under other devices with yellow exclamation marks by their name.
Please help. This is unbelievably frustrating and I've been at it all day.

Hi, David:
See if this works to get the ethernet adapter installed...
1. Install the latest Intel chipset installation utility driver first and restart the PC. The 2nd file down on the left side of the page is the auto install file.
2. Install the latest Realtek ethernet driver directly from Realtek. Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 2nd file listed at the link below.
If the above two steps fail to resolve the issue, perform a hard reset of the notebook, but leave the main battery out for about 15 minutes.
See this guide for how to do a hard reset.

Wireless: There is no information online regarding what model wireless network adapter your notebook has, so please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the Device Manager labeled as a Network Controller.
Then I will post the link to the wifi driver you need.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.

I am sure you found this page:
Have you installed the chipset and other drivers? How about a screen shot of the device manager?

Hi:
Here are the links to the latest wifi and bluetooth drivers for that model wlan card...
The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.

Hi Paul, having another minor issue and thought you might know the answer...
Before I went to Win7 I was on Win10, and I could use two fingers on the touch pad at once to scroll up and down pages. Since going to Win7 this feature seems to have vanished and I can't find any options to enable it in the mouse settings. I suspect there is some driver I'm missing but I've installed all the ones from the HP site, so I'm unsure of what to do here.
After installing the drivers listed as "Synaptics TouchPad Driver" and "Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver" I am told that this computer needs the 64-bit version of DPinst.exe installed. Not sure at all what any of this means.
