Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just bought this laptop and I am having alot of problems with it failing to find the website IP addresses when i try to open a webpage.

I have tried all of the basic things like,

Restarting everything (including router, modem etc)

HP support assist network check (Came back with no errors)

Windows nework diagnostics (told me to resart my router)

Updating drivers for networking, and windows updates

setting manual DNS of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (google public DNS servers)

setting fixed IP for the laptop on my home network.

flushing the DNS etc. in command prompt,

Anything else i can try?

Thank you for your time,

Joe Turner

EDIT: Just tried an external network dongle and this appears to be working correctly so the problem lies with the wireless network adapter in the laptop.

You get a smallish menu and by choosing a letter a test or check or reset is done.
EG:     X will show the Wifi's you have/can connect to.

EG:    W for reset the winsock

and Z bails you out.

The letter     c   produces this.....

Press A-Z, and then ENTER:c

Idx     Met         MTU          State                Name
---  ----------  ----------  ------------  ---------------------------
  7           5        1500  disconnected  Ethernet
 23          55        1500  connected     WiFi
  6          25        1500  disconnected  Local Area Connection* 2
  1          75  4294967295  connected     Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
 21          65        1500  disconnected  Bluetooth Network Connection
  3          25        1500  disconnected  Local Area Connection* 12

If in doubt please ask.

Ok, thanks for the reply,

So I've setup the tool and used the letter "c"

this gives:

Idx      Met           MTU             State                          Name
--- ---------- ---------- ------------ ---------------------------
1          75     4294967295 connected Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1
24       35                     1500 connected WiFi 2
19       65                     1500 disconnected Bluetooth Network Connection 2
2          25                     1500 disconnected Local Area Connection* 16
9          25                     1500 disconnected Local Area Connection* 17

Which functions should i try running to help troubleshoot the problem?

HP Recommended

Hi

Concerned about the Pseudo interface.

Device Manager may show what it is.

however

L  M  N  (Q   R )  W  then Z      and anything else you fancy.

HP Recommended

@Lil_Boy_Blue

Just tried "L" and got this:

Press A-Z, and then ENTER:L
Too many arguments in command line.

Is this normal?

Also device manager wise the only thing i can find that looks unusual is the firmware error:

IMAGE.PNG

Capture.PNG

This might be competely unrelated as I dont think it was there when i had a look the other day so it seems to have appeared post network issues so is unlikely to be the cause of my problem.

Im starting to think that i just got shipped a Laptop with a faulty network adapter as I'm also having problems with the Bluetooth which is handled by the same card I think i will speak to HP about the possiblity of this other the phone some time next week if i still cant get it working correctly.

Thanks again for your time,

Joe
