Software: Windows 10 Home

New laptop purchased last month did not come with an Ethernet port, so I purchased an Anker Ethernet-to-USB-C adapter. The Ethernet works fine, but now whenever I unplug from the adapter, my laptop cannot see any wireless networks. Am I SOL?

Things I've done:

  • Network troubleshooting

  • Numerous reboots

  • Attempted driver updates (none found)

  • Factory reset.

Try updating the wireless nic's drivers and look for it being disabled in your hardware list.. You may also have to manually turn the WiFi back on in your network connection tab every time because the plug and pray does not automatically revert back when you go thru the eject USB device procedure..
