Hi, I am hoping that someone can help me. My HP device keeps losing WIFI signal multiple times during the day . No other device is affected at home. It's becoming very troublesome especially as I work from home and Teams meetings are sometimes near impossible.
Here is some information which might be useful:
Product No: 1EOR1EA#ABU (if my vision is correct)
System Model: HP Laptop 14s-dq1xxx
System Type: x64-based PC
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version: 10.0.19045 Build 19045
Network Adaptor: - System Type x64-based PC
Driver Details: Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCle - Adapter version 2024.0.10.222
I would be very grateful if anyone can help or point me in the right direction.

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the Realtek Wi-Fi driver to the latest version HP has:
Restart the PC after installing the driver:
2024.10.228.2 03/07/2023

Hey Paul - everything has been working perfectly until today and I've noticed my signal dropping start to drop albeit I've not been kicked off. Can you tell me how I find out when new drivers are released and why these are not automatic updates? Apologies but I have very limited tech knowledge. Many thanks

Hi:
Sorry that driver didn't work too long for you.
Since I don't work for or represent HP, I would have no idea when/why the Realtek driver updates are not pushed by Realtek or HP to the Microsoft Windows Update program.
I usually check the drivers from the latest HP business notebooks that are released that use the same Wi-Fi adapter as it seems that HP does a better job keeping the business class PC drivers updated more frequently.
Another way to check is to search the Microsoft Update Catalog for newer drivers.
Coincidentally, based on your reply, I checked the site and Realtek released a newer driver:
2024.10.228.3 4/18/2023
The drivers on this site are cabinet files which means there is no executable to click on to run the file, and what I usually do to install drivers like this is to use the free 7-Zip file utility, to extract the drivers from the cabinet file and manually update the driver from the device manager.
Here is the link to the free 7-zip file utility. You want the first file listed at the top of the page for 64 bit.
After you install 7-zip, download the first file listed on the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
After you download the driver file, right click on it and select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into that long folder name.
Ignore any errors reported.
Once that is done, you can go to the device manager. Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.
Click in the Realtek Wi-Fi adapter. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.
Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.
Hopefully that will help.
