High bandwidth network not connecting

Hi there. I'm currently having problems connecting to a wifi network with a higher bandwidth than the one I'm currently using, and it's not connecting no matter what I try. I've tried signing into it through the "hidden network" option, creating a new network and signing into it through the control panel, however nothing has worked. I've tried updating my drivers, and it says they're up to date and can't find an update for it. My computer is also fully up to date. 

So what do I do? Is there maybe an update I have to download from somewhere on the internet in order for it to work? One of the network drivers does say it's from 2017, so clearly is is outdated, but it says there's no updates for it when I try to update. 
I'm really at a loss here, and it's hard to find anything on the internet anywhere else that actually helps me in this situation. 
Hopefully someone here can help, because this is my last option 😞

The specs of your machine is

It only has  802.11b/g/n (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.0 combo adapter which supports 2.4GHz networks only. It also only has one antenna. You have 2 options

 

(a) Replace  existing adapter with

  •  Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter part # 863934-855
  •  Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 802.11 AC 1x1 WiFi + BT5 Combo Adapter (non-vPro) (MU-MIMO supported) part # L25889-005

(b) Allow your new router to broadcast dual bands, your machine will pick up 2.4GHz network and you can connect.
