Hello, I am an HP computer user in Türkiye. I recently spoke with customer service in Türkiye, but they did not do it. They said that the admins in foreign forums are more knowledgeable. Please write there and solve my problem. Please send me the drivers etc. what should I use to change the MAC address. It already says my computer model etc., they directed you to help. Thank you in advance. HP Team.

Hi @abcd123489364

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm really sorry you're having trouble changing the MAC address—it’s frustrating when you're trying to configure your system and the tools or support don’t seem to offer a clear path. While MAC addresses are hardware-bound and not typically changed through drivers, there are a few safe and supported ways to assign a temporary MAC address in Windows 11.

Steps to Assign a Temporary MAC Address in Windows 11

1. Use Device Manager to Set a Local MAC Address

This method works for most Intel and Realtek network adapters.

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
  • Expand Network adapters
  • Right-click your active network adapter (e.g., Intel Wireless or Realtek Ethernet) > Properties
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Select Network Address or Locally Administered Address
  • Choose Value and enter a 12-digit hexadecimal MAC address (e.g., 00A1B2C3D4E5)
  • Click OK and restart your computer

If this option is missing, your adapter may not support manual MAC assignment.

2. Confirm Adapter Compatibility

To check if your adapter supports MAC address changes:

  • Visit the HP Drivers & Software page
  • Enter your HP laptop model
  • Download the latest network adapter driver (Intel or Realtek)
  • Install and restart your system

This ensures full access to advanced adapter settings.

3. Use HP Support Assistant for Driver Updates

  • Open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu
  • Go to My Devices > Updates
  • Install any available network driver updates

Download if needed: HP Support Assistant

Let me know your exact HP model if you'd like help locating the correct network driver. Once these steps are complete, your system should allow temporary MAC address assignment through Windows settings.
