Hi:
The Realtek wifi adapter your notebook has only has one antenna cable connected to it, making an upgrade to a gigabit wireless connection impossible.
The only wifi card that you can upgrade to might be the Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP Part # L17365-005 .
That model wifi card works with one antenna, and it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi AC band.
The only place I have been able to find one of the above wifi cards for sale is on eBay.

Ethernet...You can purchase an external USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter, and plug it into one of your notebook's USB 3 ports and have a gigabit ethernet connection.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.
The wifi card removal and replacement procedures can be found in chapter 6.

The illustration shows 2 antennas to be detached/reattached, but I am 99% sure there is only one antenna cable connected to the single band wifi cards.

I have a HP Notebook - 15-af131dx. Is there a Realtek WI-FI/Bluetooth combo adapter that would increase my WI-FI speed available for my model?
