I have an old, but trusted Laserjet 5m that can connect via ethernet on a router and print via an ip address. However, I now only have internet access via my iPhone. Is it possible to connect the printer via a router that would be wirelessly connected to the internet via my iPhone? There are no drivers available for this printer with OS Monterey so parallel 36 pin usb cable would not work. If anyone has a solution I'd be grateful as the 5m tiger tank of a printer is too good to bin.

Hi, many thanks for getting in touch.

The serial number of my HP Laserjet is [Personal Information Removed]. Manufactured in the Netherlands in January 1997 NCI.

Also printed on the back of the unit is Hewlett Packard C3917A.

I did put the serial number into the link you supplied but it was not recognised.

It has Localtalk, a Parallel Port, IR, a 10Base-T connection and a BNC, but I don't know what the last two are for. Seeing as it was geared for postscript and AppleTalk I hope I can still use this printer via an IP address.

The Laserjet 5m was working ok via a landline connected wifi, but am trying to get the ethernet somehow connected via a router or bridge so it can pick up the wifi from my iPhone. I'm unsure whether a router or bridge would be able to do this so your help would be much appreciated.

I understand you are facing an issue connecting your HP LaserJet 5m Printer wirelessly using your phone and you wanted to know about the ports available.

I've sent you a private message with some instructions and pictures.
