Hi @Sankalp1465,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To enable Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN) on your HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop, you'll typically need to access the BIOS/UEFI settings and configure the appropriate options. However, not all laptops support WoWLAN, so it's important to check whether your specific model does.

Here's a general guide on how to enable WoWLAN on your laptop.

  • Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing a specific key during startup, such as F2 or Del. Check your laptop's documentation for the exact key to enter BIOS/UEFI.
  • Navigate to Network Settings: Once you're in the BIOS/UEFI settings, look for a section related to network or wireless settings. The exact location and naming may vary depending on your laptop model and BIOS/UEFI version.
  • Enable WoWLAN: Within the network settings, you should see an option related to Wake on Wireless LAN or WoWLAN. Enable this option.
  • Save and Exit: After enabling WoWLAN, save your changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI settings. Your laptop will restart.
  • Configure Network Adapter Settings: Once your laptop has restarted, you may need to configure the network adapter settings in your operating system to allow WoWLAN to function properly. This may involve enabling certain power management settings or configuring the wireless adapter properties.
  • Test WoWLAN: After making the necessary changes, you can test WoWLAN by putting your laptop into sleep mode and then attempting to wake it using a Wake on Wireless LAN signal from your Echo Dot.

Keep in mind that WoWLAN support also depends on the capabilities of your wireless network adapter and drivers. If your laptop's network adapter doesn't support WoWLAN, you may not be able to enable it through BIOS/UEFI settings alone.

If you're unable to find the WoWLAN option in your BIOS/UEFI settings or if it's not supported by your laptop's hardware, you may need to explore alternative solutions for remotely powering on your laptop, such as using a Wake-on-LAN (WoL) over Ethernet, as you mentioned.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
