HP EliteBook 865 16 inch G9 Notebook PC (581B0AV) - DELETED
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone

I followed the instruction of the  Hp Elitebook 865 G9 Maintenance and Service Guide to Install the wwan card (Quectel EM05-CE) but there is no such device on the device manager. Not even a yellow question mark.

I installed the driver but didn't solve the problem.

how can I fix this issue?

Sincerely

So. for the sake of anyone else who wants to add a wwan card to hir/her laptop.

I bought a Fibocom L860-GL (Intell XMM 7760) and install it on my laptop. Only after installing the card the wwan card also become visible on the Bios and I enabled it.

On Windows, I couldn't install an hp driver for the same chip so instead, I used the fibocom driver from Lenovo and I installed it manually.

Now my LTE connection works. yayyyy

However, after each sleep, i need to refresh the device manager to enable it. should be some bios or firmware glitch

Sincerely

Hi:

First check to see if there is a BIOS setting to enable the WWAN adapter.

Since the notebook didn't come with a WAN adapter, the setting may be disabled by default.

If there is no BIOS setting or the setting is enabled, then most likely you are limited to using the only WWAN adapter supported, which according to chapter 3 of the manual is the Intel XMM 7560 R+ LTE-Advanced Pro (Cat 16) WWAN module HP Part # M52040-001

I searched everywhere and only there is one wwan card that utilizes the same "Intel XMM 7560" and that's fibocom. is this the same brand that hp uses in its productsts?

Hi:

This is what HP calls the part...

HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts

I did a search by the HP part number on eBay and a general search using Microsoft Bing and found absolutely nothing regarding that part number.
