Hi @bensonnancy11,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP LaserJet M209dwe printer is not responding to your Wi-Fi password, here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:
1. Verify the Wi-Fi Password
- Ensure that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password. Double-check for typos, especially with uppercase and lowercase letters.
2. Restart the Printer and Router
- Power off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
3. Check the Wi-Fi Network
- Make sure that your printer is attempting to connect to the correct Wi-Fi network, especially if you have multiple networks (e.g., 2.4GHz and 5GHz).
4. Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- If your router supports WPS, try connecting your printer using the WPS method:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- On the printer, go to the control panel and select the WPS option (if available) to initiate the connection.
5. Reconfigure the Wi-Fi Settings
- Use the printer's control panel to navigate to the network settings.
- Select the option to set up a wireless connection and enter the Wi-Fi password again.
6. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates on the HP website or through the HP Smart app.
7. Factory Reset the Printer
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. This will restore it to its default settings, including network settings:
- Refer to the printer’s user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
8. Check for Interference
- Make sure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices (like microwaves or cordless phones) that could interfere with the Wi-Fi signal.
9. Connect via USB Temporarily
- If you still cannot connect to Wi-Fi, consider connecting the printer to your computer via USB temporarily to set up the wireless connection through the HP Smart app.
If you’ve tried these steps and the printer still does not connect to Wi-Fi, consider contacting HP phone support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
