I have a Atheros WiFi adapter.
It connects to my Router. It WILL NOT connect to the Internet !
The driver is up to date.
I have tried many many things - gone to Forums - News Groups - to the Thread
at the top of this forum ! NOTHING works.
I loaded a Roswell setup and am running a Roswell N300 Wireless USB WiFi adapter on the
HpG60 Laptop - and IT WORKS ! $25.
Can my Hp WiFi adapter be broken ?! It does connect to the Router......it just refuses
to connect to the Internet !
Is this some incompatibility of Atheros Adapters to VISTA ? Help !

Hi:
If your PC has the Atheros AR5007 wifi adapter, install this driver, restart the PC, and that should resolve the problem.
This package contains the drivers for the supported Atheros Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

OK...I downloaded that link -
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54972.exe
- got an exe file - transferred it to my Laptop and ran it.
It made a Directory titled SWSetup.
I found a great deal of stuff I don't understand, but I went to Drivers | WLAN,
which contained a "Setup".
I ran the setup and it installed 'something' - what ?
I found an Atheros subdirectory in my Programs(x86) subdirectory.
I went into the Atheros Adapter "Properties" and had it update the driver
via this Subdirectory you gave me (let it search the computer).
It apparently found the driver and updated it......
The WiFi is connected to the router, and NOW it does connect to the Internet.
THANK YOU ! Holy Moley !

You're very welcome.
Yes, that was one way to do it, but after you ran the exe file, the package should have automatically installed the driver after you accepted the agreement.
In any event, glad to know the driver update solved the problem, as I knew it would.
