HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi - I need to install a wireless network card driver for this laptop as it does not auto-detect form the Windows 11 install media.  How can I find out which to use as the NIC is not listed in BIOS and does not auto-detect from the downloads on the HP site.

Hi @Darren_W5

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To find the appropriate network card driver for your HP 15.6 Inch Laptop PC 15-E2000 (2J4W0AV), you'll need to know the specific network adapter that is installed in your laptop. To identify the network adapter model and download the correct driver, you can follow these steps:

  1. Check Device Manager:

    a. Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Device Manager" from the context menu.

    b. In Device Manager, expand the "Network adapters" section. Here, you should see your laptop's network adapter listed. It might be labeled as "Wireless Network Adapter" or something similar.

    c. Double-click on the network adapter to open its properties.

    d. Go to the "Driver" tab, and you'll see the name and version of the driver currently installed.

  2. Visit HP's Official Website:

    a. Go to the official HP website (https://support.hp.com/).

    b. Enter your laptop's model or serial number (15-E2000 or 2J4W0AV) in the search bar and press Enter.

    c. Look for the "Downloads" or "Drivers" section for your laptop model.

    d. Under the "Networking" or "Network" category, you should find the drivers for your specific network adapter.

  3. Download and Install the Driver:

    a. Download the driver that corresponds to your network adapter and your operating system (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11).

    b. Run the downloaded driver installer, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

  4. Reboot Your Laptop:

After the driver installation is complete, it's a good practice to restart your laptop to ensure that the changes take effect.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and install the correct network card driver for your HP 15.6 Inch Laptop PC 15-E2000 (2J4W0AV). If you have difficulty finding the appropriate driver on HP's website, you can also use HP's automatic driver detection tool, if available, to automatically detect and install the necessary drivers for your laptop.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
