I have lost all WIFI capability
07-28-2020 07:18 AM

My WIFI adapter seems to have disappeared. I was not able to connect to the internet at all, The Icon would not show up on the tray and it does not appear in Device manager even when selecting "show hidden devices". The only way I am able to go online is by using the USB-Ethernet adapted I purchased. Do you have a link to the wireless adapter that i need to reinstall?

@george150 Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are facing issues with wifi.
What is the product number of your computer? (Ensure you don't share any personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc..).
Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here
I have a few steps to resolve the issue:
-
Since you've already reinstalled drivers, I would recommend using an Ethernet cable (Wired) and update your Wi-Fi drivers using this link
-
Update the bios by visiting this link or through support assistant using an Ethernet cable.
-
Now try to connect to the internet wireless.
The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
Keep us posted,

Thank you for the update.
To resolve this issue, download and install the appropriate SoftPaq to update the Realtek driver:

Have a nice day!!

I understand your concerns.
Please perform the system reset.
Windows 10 has a reset feature that repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This feature is recommended for recovery because it reinstalls Windows 10 while either preserving your personal data and customizations or removing all your personal data.
You have a choice of two methods to reset your computer.
-
If Windows 10 loads correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows in this document.
-
If Windows 10 does not start correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset through Windows Recovery Environment in this document.
Have a nice day!!

I understand your concerns.
In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
Have a nice day!!
