Product: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC A6Y53UA#BA
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
I can't connect to my wireless router with the current driver. I was told I need the #6 driver update.

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Realtek 8188GN PCIe Half MiniCard (HMC) WiFi adapter - 802.11b/g/n 1x1.

Wifi 6 is the new generation of Intel wifi adapters, and your notebook does not support any of those.
The newest W7 driver for that model wifi adapter is this one...
