Please ignore any advice posted by an HP employee. They give advice but do not test the original question to see if it proves factual. I simply need the Network Driver for an HP 8300 CMT. Nothing more, nothing less. When you use the HP site to simply download a Driver, it asks for your Serial Number OR wants to SCAN your Device. Simple enough right. Enter your Serial Number, HP finds the type of device it's assigned to and then starts the STUPID spinning thing that's indicating HP is scanning your PC. GREAT! HP is scanning the PC I am using to get the missing Network Adapter Driver for the PC that's not able to access the Internet. WOW! how stupid to scan the wrong PC. If you in fact ask HP to Scan your PC, it also scans the wrong PC. Why would HP want to scan the wrong PC? They do not will not listen to a Customer either via Email or Chat.

Yes, they close the case when they choose, NOT when the problem is fixed.
Might any Forum user have a copy of the Network Adapter for my HP 8300 CMT? If so, is there some way you can send it to me? If I hadn't used the four DVD set to Factory Restore my PC I might not be as upset. The Chat was a waste of time and the Email support was ono existent. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi:
What network driver do you need?
Most of those older business desktops only came with ethernet.
I'm assuming you need the W7 driver because W8 and newer install the ethernet driver automatically.
Driver - HP Compaq Elite 8300 Convertible Minitower PC | HP® Customer Support
I have the 8200 Elite CMT and never had a problem downloading and installing drivers for it.
Naturally if you have no internet connection in order to use the support page or download drivers, you will need to use another PC to do that with.

Thank you again Paul! Over the years, you have helped me many times and I am thankful for your help.
With regards to my situation, it appears that the four Factory Restore Disks I have, restore Windows-7 to a Non SP1 Level. My guess if I had Restore Disks that would restore to a Windows-7 level, I would not have had this problem. Why I was sent a set of Non Windows-7 Pro SP1 Level, I can only guess. Thank you again Paul.

You're very welcome.
Yes, that's a good question as to why HP did not supply W7 recovery media with SP 1 included, since SP1 came out on Feb 22, 2011, and the 8300 Elite model series was not introduced to market until mid-2012.
That is important because a few W7 drivers will not work without SP1 being installed.
While I no longer run W7 on any of my PC's anymore (I have upgraded them all to W11 using a W11 hardware check bypass method), when I did have W7, the first thing I did was to update to W7 SP1 by using a SP1 DVD I made from the Microsoft download and popped that into the DVD drive and updated to SP1 right away before installing any drivers.
If you have not done so already, you may want to do the same thing, so you don't run into this issue again.
Install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) - Microsoft Support
I also downloaded Microsoft Edge for W7 since Internet Explorer is no longer supported and doesn't work well with the HP support pages, if it works at all.
Note that Microsoft will be further reducing support for Windows 7 next month.
Microsoft Edge will no longer be supported for Windows 7 and 8 in January 2023 - Softonic
