I recently got a new laptop from bestbuy. hp laptop 15-db0011dx is the model name.
And the network car has RJ45 jack istead of a nrmal ethernet jack. So I need to find anadaptor for ethernet cable to rj 45 jack.
And i can't seem to find one. I'm sure other people have the same problem so I figured i'd ask in here. Anyone have any tips. Where to find one, how much it is etc.
Thanks for any info.

Sorry for jumping in, you said your machine has RJ45 jack, yes it has as shown
And all all standard ethernet cables should fit that jack
Regards.

Hi:
An ethernet jack normally has a RJ-45 connection.
Every one of my HP business desktops, notebooks, routers, Roku's etc have RJ-45 jacks.
I have read on other forum posts that there may be some kind of plastic cover that partially goes over the port on some notebook models.
Do you see anything like that, which can be opened or swung out?

man, I must have had the biggest brain fart in the history of brainfarts.
You're both absolutely right. i was trying to plug in the ethernet right side up when the laptop has the plug upside down.
No wonder it wouldn't fit. I'm laughing at myself right now. Thanks all.
Now I have another problem and thatis not being able to locate the battery on the bottom or anywhere else for that matter. Do I really have to remove the bottom panel using screw drivers to get to the battery?
I want to remove it because this is mainly a home computer and I don't usually run off the battery. and it's just going to go bad over time.

That actually is the case in my laptop too. my laptop has a little cover that drops below a bit as the plug pushes it out. But my problem was that i was trying to plug it clip side up like I did with my old laptop. this is the opposite the clipside has to point downward.
