Dears ,

I need your help , I have an Elitebook 840 G7 without WLAN card installed.

I bought AX201 non-vpro and add it to the motherboard and try and install driver for it but unfortunately the card not appeared on device manager also the WLAN option doesn't exist in Bios Advanced Built-in menu.

I need your help its an urgent case.

Hi:

Yes, that is very strange since the service manual indicates that only the Intel AX201 Wi-Fi card was offered in that model.

See chapter 3.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try a different model wifi card that is not CNVio2.

I recommend this one...

Hello Paul,

thanks for your reply and suggestion.

before I change the wireless card , Can i edit the bios configuration to add WLAN option

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, that would not be possible.

The BIOS is not recognizing the card exists in the slot.

What you could do is to check any security or device configuration settings and make sure the Wi-Fi M.2 slot is not disabled for some reason.

this is exactly what we are looking for

If no such setting exists (I have no idea what your notebook's BIOS menu looks like, because HP does not have any of those settings listed in the service manual), I would try the AX200.

I don't see a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth setting which means the notebook reports no existence of a combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card.

yes this is the main prooblem. the device doesnt detect the ax201 wireless card and the option not exist

Other than trying the AX200 card I recommended, you may want to contact HP technical support because on notebooks where a CNVio2 card like the AX201 is not supported, what happens is exactly what is happening to you.

No presence of a wifi adapter.

Now, if the manual had any other card listed as supported, I would tell you with 100% certainty that the AX201 card is not supported, but since that is the only one listed, I am stumped.
