HP 250 G4

Greetings,

Currently, I have a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter installed in my HP 250 G4 laptop in the M.2 slot that I would like to upgrade to an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter. According to the HP Maintenance and Service Guide (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04653884), the Intel 3165 wireless module is compatible with the laptop model.

However, after replacing the Broadcom card with the Intel 3165, the system BIOS is not willing to recognize the new card. The "System information" screen upon bootup does not show wireless nor Bluetooth devices. The HP UEFI System Diagnostics reports Wireless Module NOT INSTALLED. Both Wireless LAN and Bluetooth are Enabled in BIOS. System BIOS is updated to the most recent F.27 version. Putting back the original Broadcom card works though. I'm completely puzzled about this issue.

Can anyone suggest how to fix this?

For your information, the laptop is an M9T00EA#AKC and the Intel 3165 has an HP SPS 806723-001 on it.

Thanks in advance.

Gabor
