Hello, I was able to upgrade from wireless 802.11N to 802.11AX.
HP Probook 640 G1, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro.
Laptop had Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 model 7260HMW AN, part #717381-001, PCI form factor. Replaced with Intel AX210 wifi 6/6E 802.11ax PCI form factor.
Requires a small phillips head screwdriver, needle nose pliers, latest Intel wireless and bluetooth drivers.
First I searched Intel.com for AX210 wireless and bluetooth drivers. Downloaded to the Probook G1.
Go to Device Manager, uninstall the Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260. Choose to delete driver software for this device.
Go to Settings --> Apps then delete all Intel newtwork and bluetooth software.
Shutdown the Probook 640 G1. Remove the battery and the bottom cover of the laptop to access the WLAN card.
Note the positions of the two antenna wires on the wifi adapter. Using needlenose pliers, carefully, gently remove the the antenna connectors.
Remove the screw on the plastic retainer if present and save the retainer. Remove the two screws on the card. Save all screws if necessary. My AX210 came with screws, but the existing screws and retainer may be used with the new adapter if it was received as a bare card.
Carefully lift out the PCI card.
I attached the antenna wires before inserting the new card, but your choice. Place the retainer on the new module then Insert the new PCI card. Attach all screws, in my case three in total. Hope you obtained the right form factor.
Put the bottom cover back on, insert the battery and latch both locks.
Boot up. Run the Intel BT and wireless driver installers.
Open File Explorer. Go to c:\users\username\appdata\temp
Delete everything. The ones you can't, choose to skip all.

Empty the trash.
Run Disk Cleanup. Select all checkboxes except Downloads.
Restart.
Connect to the desired wireless SSID. I used WPS.
Reboot once or twice to confirm stability.
Enjoy AX wifi 6 with an oldie but a goodie.
Sahal.
