For the past few months, I have been having problems with my Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 wireless card.  I have spent hours on hours troubleshooting and reading.  The problem is that the card finds NO wireless networks at all.  I have replaced the card thinking it was bad, but the new card has the same issue.

I found this article that states that the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 is NOT meant to work under windows 10 (which is strange that it worked for well over a year with no issues until  recently when it just stopped - no updates were done when it stopped working).

I've done all the troubleshooting I care to and I'm ready to ditch the wireless card.  My question is this: is there an alternitive wireless card that can be used in place of the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230?  I don't know much about hardware, not sure if another wireless card could be put in the slot that houses the centrino?

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

You can replace it with this card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0    HP Part # 717381-001

You can even opt for the AC version if you have, or plan to get an AC router...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0                  HP Part # 710661-001

Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the card.  Should be readily obtainable on eBay or Amazon.

Both cards are fully supported for W10.

It's a thing of beauty when you plug something in and it just WORKS!!!!!

I didn't even have to download drivers.  It just worked.  (Wiping a tear away from my eye......months and months of fighting wtih the 2230!!!)

Glad to know that the upgrade went well.

Yes, W10 automatically installs the drivers for that model wlan card.

Enjoy!
