Hi All,

My laptop's (HP Notebook 15-ay079tx) wifi/wireless card currently supports only 2.4 GHz (radio types: 802.11b/g/n). i want to upgrade the wireless card to enable 5 GHz. Someone please tell me if the following card would be compatible with my device while taking into account the BIOS whitelist as well.

The card I'm looking to install is - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (Mini PCIe)

in case the above is not compatible with my system, could you suggest a compatible card which is also accepted by HP BIOS as per their whitelist.

Hi:

Your notebook only has one antenna wire, so the Intel 7260 AC card won't work properly and also unless you are able to find the M.2 form factor version of the card, it won't fit in your notebook's wifi card slot.

I recommend that you replace the Realtek RTL8723BE wifi card your notebook has with this one that works with one antenna wire.
