The Wifi connection is always droping, I have updated the driver for the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 adapter with the Intel latest update. Still gives me a lot of grief. My OS is update and the product too.
The other devices connected to the same network are working properly, while this laptop goes online but after 3-4 minutes is down. I really dont know what else I could try!

Hi @JamesNarcone,
Good Day! Welcome to the HP support forums. I reviewed the post regarding Wi-Fi issues on your computer. Excellent description and great diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.
To assist with accurate information I would require more information regarding his.
- Did this happen after a windows or software update?
Does it work with a wired connection? - Please provide the complete model# of the computer to assist you correctly.
For now please perform these steps:
Open Control Panel, change view to Small Icons, then select "Recovery".
- After creating a Restore Point, open Device Manager.
- Open the "Network Adapter" list, and find the WiFi adapter.
- Right Click the driver, and select "Disable“ and “Re-Enable”
- Check if Wifi connects. If not, continue with the steps below.
- Open CMD as Admin: Copy the following commands, and press enter after each one.
To open CMD as admin right-click on start and left click on Command Prompt (Admin)
Then in the black window type these command out.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
netsh int tcp show global (Check if All settings have taken effect)
Reboot the system and see if it works.
- If it still continues, uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager and check the box delete the software for this device.
- Then update the bios, chipset and wireless drivers from http://hp.care/2syreDe and follow the on-screen instructions.
- For further assistance please follow all the prescribed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2sGfLC1 and follow the guided troubleshooter.
- Please perform all the prescribed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2sEZlcM also if the situation is not corrected.
- If it still fails, then the issue is with the wireless slot of the motherboard. So instead of replacing the entire motherboard please order a Wireless USB dongle from a local store like Best Buy or staple or one from Amazon or eBay. You could buy one for a song and it is very cost effective and economical.
- Just plug it to one of the USB ports of the computer and connect it to the router to go online.
Please perform these steps one at a time checking if the issue gets resolved and then go to the next step.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please. Please note that I am not overloading you with a lot of troubleshooting steps. Instead, just like you, I am eager to ensure that the problem gets resolved. So I am providing you with more resources and information at your disposal to deal with the situation better.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care and have a blessed week ahead.
Cheers!

hi,
thanks a lot for your kind reply.
I tried to turn off the bluetooth and it seems better, even thought it has been disconnected a couple of time during last afternoon. I also changed the adapter's driver, because the last version didnt work at all (now there's 19.40.0.3 version), and there has been a little improvement also.
Infact, now it is ok and I'll try your deep instruction later, just if the problem should come back again
I'll keep you informed about the progress, but I really hope to click the "accepted solution" at the end of the day.
regards
JN

Hi,
I tried almost everything possible, I'm connected and online, but sometimes it drops. In particular, I've seen that I remain connected at my wifi all the time, but for few minutes I cannot surf the web (a yellow mark appears on the wifi logo).
Anyway, that's the answer after I've runned out the first part of your instructions:
"Open Control Panel, change view to Small Icons, then select "Recovery".
Parametri globali TCP

Stato unione segmenti ricezione : enabled
Resilienza RTT non SACK : disabled

"
I dont know if it can help to reach the matter, but maybe you'll see something else than I do 🙂
Thanks again and regards
