Intel wireless Network adapter AC 9641 stopped working.

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

The request is not supported.

I went to Intel and downloaded the updated driver. My laptop said the update was not compatible with my system. It's my Intel Wireless Network adapter AC946. Error message is: “This Device Cannot Start (code 10)” Error I cannot find any help anywhere. I am not a hardware savvy senior at all. I was able to connect the stone age way with an Ethernet cord. Any help is appreciated.

Hi @Barbjo16

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I see that your Intel wireless Network adapter AC 9641 stopped working. Do not worry, I am here to help you with it.

The Code 10 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. It's generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device, a situation usually caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.

May I know if you have made any recent hardware or software changes to your system?

Let's reinstall the driver and check if the issue persists:

  • On your keyboard, press Win+X (the Windows key and the X key) to open the WinX menu. Then select Device Manager.
  • Double click Network adapters to expand the node. Then right-click Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 and select Uninstall device.
  • Select the box in front of Delete the driver software for this device. Then click Uninstall.
  • Now restart your computer and check if the issue persists.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
