Hi all.

I have a poor wifi connection in my home.

Because the fibre router and my computer room are on different power phases, I have run an Ethernet cable

between the two. Can someone please give me a simple instruction as to how I can get this connection activated?

Do I need to access a Driver or whatever as part of the process?

I would prefer to have both wifi and Ethernet available, as I sometimes use the PC in the room where the router is

installed. (The signal is ample in this room).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know which type your fibre router is it connected to a normal wifi router?

Normally a wifi router should have at least 4 RJ-45 ports. You can use a Cat5E up to connect one end to the router and one end to your computer.

In my house, the ISP router is no good, I have to use a wifi extender for all my devices upstairs. If you wish, you can use something like

Thanks for the response.

Signal boosters do not seem to work, as the obstacle for wifi is a brick wall that is 450 mm thick. The attenuation gives about

70% signal strength loss. My problem is setting up the computer to accept the ethernet feed. I am trying to have the option of

Ethernet or Wifi, depending on what room I am in.
