HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg1000 (43F53AV)

Hello,

For a few weeks (since the last ‘connectivity enhancing’ update on 12/20?), my HP Pavilion laptop has experienced connectivity problems. No other device in the house has any problem. We have a brand-new xumo box from Xfinity (we initially thought that might help). The problems are the following:

Summary: connection stops even though the system indicates that there is no connectivity problem. Performing a system restore breathed new life into the system—for about one hour.

My connection stops several times a day. Running the ‘Diagnose network problems’ function invariably brings back the same message: “You’re connected to the internet. We didn’t find any problems with your network”, yet, neither of my browsers (Chrome and Edge) work. I have both ethernet and wi-fi connections. Ethernet used to be my default connection, but I often have to revert to wi-fi. The wi-fi connection also regularly stops anyway. Every day, reestablishing connection time seems to take more attempts.

I have done all the following many times over:

  1. Restart the Device
  2. Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi
  3. Check for Updates.
  4. Restart Router/Modem
  5. Check Wi-Fi Settings
  6. Reset Network Settings
  7. Check for Hardware Issues
  8. Update Network Drivers
  9. System restore (done once)
  10. System reinstall (repair version) (done once)

Hi:

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook come with?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply. I am not too knowledgeable on the subject. What my settings indicate is this:
Wifi: MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter (Default)

Ethernet: ExpressVPN TAP Adapter

You're very welcome.

See if updating the Mediatek  MT7921 Wi-Fi driver to the latest version HP has resolves the problem for you.

Version 3.0.1.1327

sp155440.exe

That would be the only suggestion I can offer.

Unfortunately, tried that already. Couple times, even. I have checked all drivers and adapters and get the "best drivers for your device are already installed" and "device is working properly" messages. I have 15 adapters listed. As I said, I don't know that stuff much and I wonder why I have so many, when every tuto I see on the web shows one or two.
I reinstalled the system a few hours ago, so everything in there has today's date on it.

That said, I appreciate you taking the time to help. Thanks

You're very welcome,

Sorry, that the driver I gave you was of no help.
