HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p261sa (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, My HP Pavillion notebook 15 has been accessing internet reliably via wi if wifi, but not now, though I do have a working bt dish near it. symptoms and messages vary.  Am only just above absolute nock every, but have tried out various  online suggestions with care, but without success. If I move it downstairs I do get the internet, but that’s not a practical option. Is it a good idea to purchase an adaptor and an Ethernet cable that will plug in to the bt dish? If so, please advise about which adaptor and what sort of cable. Alternatively, any advice would be welcome. Thanks

Hi:

Your notebook has an ethernet port, so you would just need a RJ-45 ethernet cable long enough for your needs.

Alternatively, you may want to purchase a dual band USB Wifi adapter and use that without the need to be tethered to an ethernet cable.
