your machine is a bit old. It supports 2.4GHz networks only.
Quick fix: To allow your router to broadcast DUAL bands, you machine can see 2.4GHz SSID and allow you to connect.
Long term fix: You can replace its wifi adapter as mentioned on its manual

Sorry, the above adapter requires 2 antennas. You can use Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter
