Install the latest Realtek Wi-Fi driver for the RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter and see if that helps any.

Version 2024.10.230.2

There are no posts from anyone that has tried to upgrade the Wi-Fi adapter in that model series, so all I can tell you is that you can try the AX200 and hope it works.

This is the part number you would need:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

I have already taken several steps to fix the issue, including updating the driver and reinstalling Windows, but my laptop still freezes every time I try to troubleshoot the network. Based on this, I’ve concluded that my RTL8822CE wireless card might be short-circuited or damaged. Therefore, I’m considering replacing it with a new wireless adapter that uses the same M.2 module type, such as the Intel AX200, which also supports Wi-Fi 6.

Since your notebook has an Intel core processor and the RTL8822CE needs two antenna wires like the AX200 does, at least you know it should have a good chance of working.

What we don't know is if that model series has a BIOS whitelist or not since no one has tried installing a different model Wi-Fi card in the model series.

That would be the only unknown factor, and HP does not release any information on BIOS whitelists.

It's possible that your notebook may even support the Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6e adapter or the Intel BE200 Wi-Fi 7 adapter.

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS # M27269-005

Intel BE200 M.2 2230 Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4 non-vPro WW WLAN module   HP part # / SPS # N39883-005
