I can not get my laptop to see our 5g wifi signal.    I can't find the specs on the adapter to see if it is capable of connecting at that speed or is it limited to 2.4 only.

Hi:

That model wifi adapter is limited to the 2.4 GHz wifi band only.

Any time you see a wifi N adapter with a suffix that ends in b/g/n, that means it is a single band wifi adapter.

Dual band wifi N adapters have suffixes that end in a/b/g/n or a/g/n.
